
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Fotbolcu
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Fotbolcu was born in İzmir in 1977 and graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2000. After ranking nationally in the Medical Specialization Exam (TUS), he began his residency in Cardiology at Koşuyolu Heart Training and Research Hospital and completed it successfully in 2005. Throughout his medical career, he has focused extensively on coronary angiography and stent procedures, gaining deep expertise in interventional cardiology.
Since 2018, Dr. Fotbolcu has been serving at Bezmialem Vakıf University Dragos Hospital, where he continues his clinical and academic work. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in 2021 in the Department of Internal Medicine at Bezmialem University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he delivers courses on secondary hypertension and contributes actively to training future physicians.
Dr. Fotbolcu has authored numerous articles indexed in SCI journals, covering a wide range of topics including myocardial infarction, valve diseases, aortic dissection, cardiac imaging, and systemic effects of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. His research reflects a strong commitment to integrating clinical practice with evidence-based cardiology. He is also the author of a book chapter on peripheral vascular interventions and has participated in international scientific congresses.
